Avalanche warning for region Indre Troms Tuesday 02.04.2024

Danger level 1 - Low avalanche danger

Published:
Generally safe avalanche conditions. A weak layer is still luming deep in the snow pack and can become active again with higher temperatures. When this happens is very unsure.

Avalanche problems

Persistent weak layer (slab avalanches)

You can trigger avalanches on a few steep slopes. Avalanches can get large enough to bury or even kill you (size 2).

Buried weak layer of surface hoar

Below you can see a description of the current snow cover information and current weather forecast in the mountains. If your observations deviate greatly from what is described here, the warning will not necessarily apply either. Always make your own judgments or stay away from avalanche terrain.

Snow cover (in Norwegian)

Monday 1. April 2024

Mountain weather

Monday 1. April 2024

Little to no precipitation. Fresh breeze from northeast. -18 °C to -8 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Tuesday 2. April 2024

No precipitation. Breeze from northeast, changing to breeze from the southwest during the afternoon. -24 °C to -13 °C at 1100 m a.s.l. Partly cloudy.

Advice

The bulletin is a planning tool and may differ from the actual situation. Always make your own evaluation. To be 100 % avalanche safe, avoid all avalanche terrain.

Avalanche risk assessment
